SALES POST + A Project [04 Oct 2009|03:15pm]

murdering
Hello, cosplayers!

I am cleaning out my closets, and have just come upon some gems from an ex-boyfriend's short career as a costumer. Therefore, I have one official FullMetal Alchemist military uniform from Japan, with tags still intact, and a white suit that was made for Rufus Shinra but could be used for something else.

Measurements, photos, and prices are below the cut.

Also, I've recently started a project for some customized merchandise directed at cosplayers. Inspired by the [red] shirts and similar products, I've started putting [Cos]Pride designs up in my CafePress shop. For the few designs I have so far, you can check out the shop here. Let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas for products/slogans. ♥

Couture for the Cure [03 Jul 2008|03:00pm]

darth_teca

While this is not necessarily directly related to cosplay (although some couture seems to come very close sometimes), I thought the cause was good enough to post it here. Several people in the NDK community are helping put this together as well as some cosplayers have been asked to show off some of their more couture-inspired costumes on the run way. In addition, you might get tips and ideas for your own outfits or be inspired to try new ones! If you have time, please do check it out!

A-KON 19 [23 Mar 2008|09:41am]

Hello Everyone! And Happy Spring too!!
Alright.  Well as I said when I posted last month something would happen and so it has!!!

I am posting here with regards to A-Kon 19 in Dallas Texas May 30th through June 1st. I am very aware that this is a long time in advance, but here is my dilemma. I recently made plans with a friend of mine to take this trip and due to some financial difficulties on her part she will be unable to attend.   Therefore I have the cost of a $520 hotel room at the Addam’s Mark where the convention is held. And as such I was looking for a traveling buddy, if you will, that would be willing to share the room cost or if someone was already planning to go and would like to stay in the Addam’s Mark I have a double occupancy room with 2 queen size beds.    The reservation is made for us to check in on Thursday the 29th of May through the morning of June the 1st. Check in is a Thursday afternoon at 3pm and checkout I believe is at noon, but the extra night would give us a chance to rest up, get Cosplay (or Lolita) steamed or pressed and ready to go as well as give us a chance to get badges ahead of time and the like.
If I were to find said traveling buddy here in the Colorado Springs or Denver area your cost for the room would be half, so $260 dollars in round numbers.   I made the reservation in January so the room should be in a pretty decent location as they assign rooms by reservation date...

Something Has Come Up [06 Feb 2008|06:48pm]

Okay so hi!  This community seems to have been silent for months but I'm hoping some people may still be checking it.  In May I am planning on attending Project: A-KON 19 in Dallas TX and I was wondering if there were many others from Colorado going.

The reason I am asking is that the friend that was originally intending to go with me may have to cancel which would leave me with their half of thehotel room that if someone needed a room I would be willing to share.

I'm sure that sounds odd coming from a complete stranger but that is why I am asking so early so that if there is anyone interested we would have a chance to meet up and at least meet up so we aren't strangers or... well now I just sound crazy... and as of yet nothing is set in stone ...so is there anyone going?

LOST CAMERA [17 Sep 2007|02:07pm]

Hello, my name is Jessica, but most people call me J-Chan. I lost a KODAK DX4330 DIGITAL CAMERA at Nan Desu Kan, and it was never handed into ops or the front desk. I don't care if someone took it and kept it, but I have photos on that camera card from personal trips and family events as well as my Japanese hosting that I need. If someone fesses up, you can keep the camera, but I need my card. If anyone has it or knows anything you can post here or contact me privately at this e-mail: jmrxthree@comcast.net

Denver Costume and Cosplay Society [12 Sep 2007|09:11pm]

darth_teca
[ mood | busy ]

Hey guys! So it's getting really close to NDK! Are you all ready and excited?

I wanted to let everyone here know that there is a new cosplay society that is being unveiled at NDK! Some of you might remember and/or participated in the Denver Cosplay Society a few years back. Well, it's been revived but in a new and improved form! Re-named the Denver Costume and Cosplay Society, we're hoping to not only get the wide cosplayer base that the previous DCS enjoyed but also include all kinds of costuming. We plan on helping and encouraging costuming from conceptualization to final presentation! The group will provide gatherings, photo shoots, tips, workshops and tutorials, and a just great way to meet other people without having to wait till the next NDK rolls around! Members will also get special discounts at Digital Dreams Photography by Laura Vasilion/ sapphic_lens and make-up by a local professional make-up team. The DCCS website, that includes our mission statement, can be found here. It's a little sparse right now, but the forums, galleries and other sections will be going up soon!

We'll be hosting a panel at NDK on Friday, 7PM in the Primrose events room. We'll be hoping to give a bit more detailed talk about the group, what we see in the future and also get feedback from people about what you would like to see the group do! Please come visit us because we would love to meet all of you and have you participate!

Make-up for Cosplay [29 Aug 2007|09:05pm]

toshimasa
Hi all! Before I post anything I just want to be sure that this is allowed. If not, feel free to delete.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Where should I start! To begin, my friend Alison and I are starting a service where we offer make-up applications to people attending conventions, photoshoots, and other various events (wedding, proms, senior photos, etc).

With NDK just around the corner, I wanted to start getting the word out that we are open for scheduling the entire weekend of NDK.

We range from basic beauty (base, eyes, cheeks, lips) to extreme applications such as tattoos and prosthetics.
The website gives you a good overview of what is offered, but the break down is as followedCollapse )

For concerns and questions please contact me: samantha.k.rose @ gmail.com

Thanks everybody! This has been x-posted in a couple other communities.

Need Makeup Models! :D [04 May 2007|08:41pm]

toshimasa
Alrighty, I talked about this a bit earlier and now comes the post! As I mentioned earlier, Alison and I are putting together a little makeup set up for people who wish to have professional makeup done for conventions, photo shoots, and other various occasions (prom, weddings, halloween, etc).

Right now, we're building up a portfolio so that people can view the work that we can do, and show options that can be done. For this, I need friends to volunteer!

Now, I'll be placing a specific list on what we need from models to show the range we can accomplish in makeup, below is what we need, we do NOT need duplicate models, unless it's different sex. So once somebody has spoken up for a particular job, that's taken, no more else, or you have to pay us. However, people can volunteer for several different types of makeup that needs to be done.

Basic Makeup: Natural. Male and Female
Basic Makeup: Beauty. Preferably Female

Complex Makeup: Skin Color Change. Two males and two females
Complex Makeup: Tattoos. One person
Complex Makeup: Character/fantasy/non prosthetic. This can be taken by several people, but no more than two males and two females.
Complex Makeup: Gender switch. I'll be taking the female to male, but we need a male to female.
Complex Makeup: Prosthetic (generic). Anything applied will not be fitted to your face, cause ah, that's a lot of work. This is just to give the idea of what can be done. Male and female.

Intricate Makeup: Prosthetic (custom). That's something that will be offered for a price, no model needed....unless you want to pay for it!

So that's what we've managed to come up with so far, if anybody has a suggestion that would be popular to do, please tell us and we'll consider adding it to our line up. But otherwise, it would be a GREAT help to get this going ASAP. Comment on my journal or e-mail me at Badnewsdoll@hotmail.com to claim any of these spots, or to pre-order and request makeup (but that'll cost something). I will update the list when comments and confirmations come in

Thanks guys!

This WILL be x-posted into local communities (can't do your makeup several states away!).

New here [26 Feb 2007|12:53am]

NDK this year is on September 14-16, so says their website.  Is anyone else working on their costumes for this year, I know I am! My Starfest costume is gonna be quick and easy because I am only going for one day.  My NDK contest costume is at a standstill, but a major piece is done, and I have been working on my other costumes, but not much.

Hi! ^^ I joined, but never posted. I have a couple of questions.. the first one being, when is the date for NDK this year? ^^; I keep hearing two different dates, and I figure this would be the best place to ask.
Another one is another con in Denver.. I can't remember the name and oo; I just recently heard it exsisted, and wondered if it was an Anime con or what.
And finally, little get-togethers. ^^ I can't say I've been cosplaying very long, but I would love to meet some new people! So I wasn't sure where to get updates and stuff like that for litle get togethers in Colorado. ^^ Anyway! Thanks for any help! ^^
